कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति (एसीसी) द्वारा जारी आदेश में कहा गया है कि अग्रवाल को बीएसएफ महानिदेशक के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। पंकज कुमार सिंह के 31 दिसंबर, 2022 को सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद से बीएसएफ प्रमुख का पद खाली है।
